Brochure, Business card, and Letterhead Final

For the back side of the Brochure, I put Kratos from the God of War series to further narrate my comic like Brochure. I used a screenshot from one of his games to use as his background. The next panel is used as the mailer, and I just made up the address and put my logo above it. The next panel is the cover of the Brochure, and I just simply put the logo there and enlarged it to fit the entire front, kind of like a book cover. The inside of the Brochure is designed to look a lot like a comic with characters Master Chief and Solid Snake. Similar to Kratos, I used screenshots from both of their games to give them a nice background. Each character as you can read talks about the different aspects of my gaming console. They each use a different dialogue that pertains to their respective games, giving it a more gamer feel. The last panel gives information about pricing for the different options on the game console. I used a glossy silver to make the letters feel shiny and stand out against the stark black background. I then placed my logo underneath the pricing to further drive home the image in readers heads. I used a black background with a silver border to tie the Brochure in with the letterhead and business card. I really like how when first looking at the Brochure it is pretty basic and then you open it and boom, its an informative comic.

For the business card I started off placing the logo in the middle and and having a black bar underneath it. I then put a support number and website underneath all that on opposite sides. I decided with the new logo I should change the business card to black and changes the color of the font for the phone number and website to light blue to match the border around the logo Sync. The back side shows off the geometric part of the logo with my name and my email in the middle.

The letterhead was the easiest of them all. I started off putting the logo in the top center and put some black bars around it with some information beneath it, separated out by the geometric design. At the bottom of it, I placed my name in the lower left had side with the logo on the lower right with another black bar beneath that. I used the black bars to tie into all the black used in the other pieces.

Company Questionnaire

1)   What is your business?
Sync - We make a gaming console that offers cross platform game play, so everyone can play together.
Why is this important: It’s important to know what the company officially does. That might sound obvious, but sometimes it’s good to have it laid out there.

2)   Describe your business in one sentence
We make a high performance, cross compatible gaming console to deliver beautiful max FPS video games.
Why is this important: This helps to get us closer to the nature of your business, and may also help inspire your slogan.

3)   Who is your target audience?
Our target audience are men and women, ages 13-30, who love causal and/or competitive gaming.
Why is this important:  You need to know whom your brand is talking to.  If you’re talking to children, it would require a completely different visual language than if you’re talking to mothers, teenagers, athletes, bankers, corporate officials, doctors or handymen.

4)   Who are your competitors?
Our top competitors would be; PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo.
Why is this important:  It’s vital to know your competition. You need to know who they are, how they run their business and what makes them successful.  If your company is no different than your competition, what would make anyone leave them to come to you?  Especially if they’re established and you’re new.

5)   What makes them better/worse than your product/service?
All of our competitors are only limited to online play with each corresponding console. PlayStation offers free to play online, while Xbox users can only play online with a monthly subscription. Nintendo users have little to no online play and focus more on full body movement and a workout style of game play.
Why is this important:  You need to know what your company is and is not, what you have in common with your competitors and what do you have that is unique?  If you see a weakness in their corporate design (such as an ugly website), this is also a place where you can make yourself look better.  Also, is their target audience any different than yours?

6)   Do you currently have an identity?  (This is more for companies that are already established and you’re just revamping the logo/corporate identity.  If you have a new company or product, skip this question.)
No.
Why is this important:  If you’re an established company with a well-known logo, you may not want to deviate too extremely from it.

7)   (If your answer to #6 is no, skip this question)  What do you like about it and what don’t you like about it?
My original logo design does not represent the company I have envisioned so well, I would like to change it, and probably make it similar put still different and distinct like my competitors.
Why is this important?  Even if you plan to change the logo entirely, it’s good to keep an inventory about what specifically worked and didn’t work about your previous design in order to inform the new one.

These following questions might seem silly, but their purpose is to help generate ideas.
1)   How do you want your image to be seen in two years?
I would like this company to be seen as the best selling console compared to others for its new level of gaming and entertainment.
Why is this important?  This is something that you will have to portray in your corporate identity.

2)   If your company was an animal, what animal would it be and why?
Ex: A cheetah, because our skates are fast, dynamic, and exciting.
Why is this important?  Your company may or may not benefit from a mascot.  If it’s for children, a mascot character might be something to consider.  But even if it’s for adults, the answer to this question might help generate ideas.

3)   If your company/brand was a person, who would it be and why?
There are many different faces for the gaming fans, and usually games and consoles are represented by their creators, so I guess my face would be the identity of the company.
Why is this important?  A brand is perceived by consumers almost like a person who is representing your company.  You trust them, communicate with them through advertisements and purchase, you can be disappointed in them, etc.  The corporate identity is the face of that person.

4)   If your company/brand was an object, what would it be?
My company would of course be the gaming console itself as the object. It would be sleek in design and probably white and shiny or matte.
Why is this important:  Might give you ideas.

5)   If your customer was a cartoon character, who would it be?
Well PlayStation has Solid Snake for the Metal Gear collection, Xbox of course has Master Chief from Halo, and Nintendo has Mario from the classic games with Mario and Luigi. So my gaming console could have Desmond from Assassin's Creed, since the game is released to all platforms.
Why is this important?  Cartoon characters have exaggerated characteristics. Identifying the general stereotype of your customers might help give you ideas.

Good Left Undone

My project was based off the song called "The Good Left Undone" by Rise Against. My five images were the hands, the rose, the weeds, the desert, and the stormy sky. I really like that song and all these images go along with the lyrics quite well.

Sheldon

I used Sheldon, the dinosaur, as my custom brush and used some "scratch" marks to define the acorn-ish shell on his back.

Here is Rodney Mullen, one of my favorite Skateboarders. This photo was taken when he was really young. Also I think the shorts came out really nice.

Project 2 Logo

This is my logo for my fantasy video game consol. I just wanted to go with something colorful and abstract and simple. Without this product actually existing I was kind of having a hard time coming up with ideas. But I do like the final outcome and the organic shapes against the crisp letters.

5 Logos Critique

I think the AT&T logo is pretty simplistic, which makes its message work well. What I get out of it is how the phone's service covers the entire Earth which is represented by the sphere and the wireless coverage being the blue swirls. The logo is for anyone looking into having a wireless phone or tablet. I think the logo is definitely memorable I think solely for the fact of how established the company is and how many commercials people see about it day to day.

The windows logo is also fairly simplistic, in which they play off the company's name and you can see the four different "windows." If you did not already know what the company was about you might think they were a window fixing or making company because of the logo. The target audience is for anyone who wants to get a home computer or a personal laptop. I think the colors go well together and make it a very nice image to look at. Because of its nice color scheme and simple design makes this image an easy one to remember after you have seen it.

The Volcom logo is quite simple in design with is triangular shape. The logo is interesting with how it plays with the opposite of black and white coloring scheme. The target audience if for young teenagers to college students who are looking to wear this "skater" style of clothing. I like how they use just blacks and whites, which makes it very versatile to put on any piece of clothing. With its unique opposite black and white pattern I would say this logo is pretty memorable.

The PlayStation logo is a simple idea of using just the P and the S in their name and setting them up like the P is over the S which is laying down. I think this gets the company's message comes across very clearly because what I think when I read PlayStation is literally what I think I'll be doing when using this product. The target audience is for any gamer who is looking to play great video games with good graphics and great performance. The logo usually has the P being red and the S being three different other colors but they have changes it to be more modern looking and keeping it Black and grey's. By using the P and S this logo is very memorable.

The Ralph Lauren logo is pretty complex with the guy riding on a horse playing polo. I think the company's message is clear by making clothing that fits the polo playing style. The target audience is for college students up looking to dress classier than usual but still keeping it fairly casual. The logo comes in many basic colors like blue and red and white and black. The different colors make it very versatile to fit nicely on any piece of clothing, The logo itself is memorable because its literally portraying a guy playing polo which is what the clothing line is called.

5 logos project

The first company I would like to make a logo for would be for a watch. This watch would be designed for the average beach goer, so it will be ocean/water/sand proof. It will be designed for the target audience  of 14 - 30.

The next logo I would like to create would be for a sports clothing company, much like Quiksilver. Same target audience as above. My company will sell things like pants, shoes, shirts, hoodies, backpacks, etc.

I would like to create a logo for a type of computer/laptop company that will be windows based. These types of computers will be high performance and gaming based. The laptops will be great for students looking to be new media production majors.

I would like to design a logo for my very own bank. My bank will be super cool and have free checking and savings accounts. It will give out loans to any reasonable request. Also this bank will allow any ATM withdraw with no charge at all. My bank will have good hours as well, that the average working can actually manage with, in order to make deposits.

My last company I would like to make a logo for is a new gaming platform to compete with the ps3, xbox360, and Wii. Mine will be cross platform capable, meaning it can operate online games with other consoles such as the ones listed above. It will be able to play Blu-Ray disks and the games designed for it will be in full HD, I'm talking 1080p not this half ass 720p bull crap.

# FRIDAYS

I'm the one and only Zach Sprague, actually that is false because I have like 10 doppelgangers as my friends on Facebook. I am 200 butterfly specialist on the swim team at the University of Tampa and I like to party. I really like watching movies because I love the idea of filming, I wish I could afford an HD camera. Over the summer I worked at Subway and chilled with the bros until school started. I like long boarding but just got one so am still kinda new to it. I hope to learn more about Photoshop and how to make images using code. Pic related.
